The first picture is a scan of a hazy aerial photograph. The scene contains some green brush and a large water tank with a paved road around it. Using CGSD's Dehaze Tool the haze was easily removed. The tool has two methods of haze removal. One is based on estimating the distance to the scene (guessing how much atmosphere is in between the camera and the scene) and the second method has the user find known colors in the scene such as black, white and neutral grays.
