These extraordinary gardens are a few miles north of Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii. Admission as of March 2000 was $15, and worth it. It is a must-see attraction on the Big Island. Arrive at least two hours before closing time to avoid the repeated staff lectures on the importance of leaving promptly. The garden has an official site with more info.
The pictures below were taken with a Noblex 150 panoramic camera, handheld. I had 160 speed film in the camera, which was a bit too slow for best results on a mostly-overcast day, the norm in Hilo. The dense foliage blocks the sun.
